Church Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St Simon Stock

The Carmelite Catholic Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Simon Stock is located in the Kensington district of London.

The church was opened in 1959, built in the Gothic style, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott.

The wedding of John Deacon and Veronica Tetzlaff took place here on January 18th, 1975. Veronica comes from a deeply religious family with Polish roots. Witness at the wedding was a friend of John from his time of playing in the band The Opposition Nigel Bullen. According to Nigel, Freddie Mercury came to the wedding in a big white boa and with two girls at his side. Seven months after the wedding, John’s first son, Robert Deacon was born.

The day before the wedding, the premier has Queen’s singiel Now I’m Here from the album Sheer Heart Attack.
